Projects
MediaCow Touch 2
Starting May 23, 2025, I am going to completely commit to the development of MediaCow Touch 2, no AMOXA, no website, nothing else. Going to try to bring back that enthusiasm I had back in June 2024 where I was literally staying up all night to work on it. That did not actually help since I was too exhausted to do anything but the point is that I have that enthusiasm back.
Development of the website will continue since it is used as documentation for the project and I want to keep releasing these blog posts, preferably on time (which I haven't been doing a good job of for a while).
AMOXA
Not working on AMOXA has proven to be difficult, with the rush of ideas that come to me every day for the game. Besides, I have been doing development on the game quite backwards: I have been working on art, sound design and storywriting before actually getting some sort of game engine up and running; PyGame by itself is not really a game engine, more of a graphics library.
I have been on the fence about switching to Raylib, using plain C since my ultimate goal with the game is to have it run on the VIA C7, a fairly limited CPU for its time.
I have been purposely keeping development of AMOXA on the down low as I have something special planned for it. That, also being difficult to do since I have been so excited about it.
I started to use certain tools I have not used in a long time, Purr Data specifically. The last time I may have used it was in 2018, using Jerobeam Fenderson's (a name I have not heard in a long time) Pd files.
The Website
I updated the date range to 2018-2025 from 2011-2025. It was 2011 before since I considered the website to be part of my online presence, which technically started with joining Roblox in 2011 but actual development of personal websites did not start until 2018.
The "Services" page was removed, temporarily, as a lot of it greatly overestimated my skills, particularly in the area of web development.
"About" was cleaned up a bit, updating some information.
Since StaticSite uses quite a different configuration file format, many page configurations would need to be updated to appear on the website.
AI Usage
AI usage has significantly increased within the last week, possibly having both a positive and negative effect.
ChatGPT has been used the most out of other AI chat services. Cody + Claude is still used as more or less as a typing assistant by providing in-line text suggestions for VSCodium/VSCode.
Since the beginning of the AI boom, in early 2023, I have been all for the democratization of AI with a rule I initally set in being: "I will not use AI unless it is hosted own my own equipment", however, due to limitations of my server hardware, I have not been able to do that and instead I been relying on third-party services.
